Hydrokinesis: as a mermaid, Alysse can control large amounts of water; this includes movement, and temperature control.

In it's more advanced forms, it does allow for some control of the weather (but Alysse generally good enough to do anything that subtle. She might be able to start a storm - might - but she wouldn't be able to control it in the slightest.)

When she uses it, her eyes glow green.

Sorcery: Alysse is untrained and occasionally undisciplined to boot; she can do some basic tricks - open doors, make a light - and some fertility magic - mostly instinctual. Other than that, sorcery is largely off the market for this one, except to occasionally boost her hydrokinesis

When she uses it, her skin glows white.

Breather Spells: Allows a non mermaid to breathe water, along with withstanding cold temperatures and high water pressure.

It lasts exactly twenty four hours from use, and can only be used once per twenty four hours. (She can reabsorb the spell and regift it, but the spells timer continues counting down.)

The siren's song: When Alysse sings, she can bring up feelings of intense desire in anyone attracted to her. (It's proportional, so those who merely think she's cute will be less affected than those who already wish to get into her pants.)

For the duration of the song, the victims are under her power. She can give them simple commands - provided she can make her intentions known, while still singing -  but how they will "please" her shifts from person to person; an enchanted serial killer will react differently to the desire than a friendly neighbor, for example.

There are numerous magical ways to block the magic of the Siren's song; unfortunately, Alysse has no access to them herself, and as such never allows her friends to hear her sing.

Estranged. Thats what she felt like.
Cut off from the community that used to be her lifeblood.
Kendra bit her lip, her strained eyes staring at her work. Needed to edit, needed to...to...

"Ugh!"

She sighed, shoving the desk, and propelling her wheeled chair away from the desk. When did writing become such a...chore?

/Its like every time I try to write, some stupid mental block shows up and weighs down my fingers!/
Maybe it was time for a break?

But she'd had enough of a break already. Months of...nothing. No progress...

"Well...Spring Break starts.....now."
